Less Pain Is a Start. How Your Knee Works Matters, Too.

It’s a relief when your knee stops hurting. But if it’s still stiff, weak, or difficult to trust on the stairs, there’s more to talk about.

That’s why we ask what you want to get back to doing. We look at your pain, but we also look at how your knee bends, how you walk, and where you’re having trouble in everyday life. As your care progresses, we check those things again. Our goal is to help improve your knee function, not just hear that your pain has gone down.

Let’s Find Out What’s Going On

Knee pain can come from an injury, arthritis, or irritation around the joint. Sometimes it starts suddenly. Other times, you realize you’ve been changing the way you move for months.

We’ll listen to your concerns, evaluate your knee, and explain what we find. Your recommended care may include rehab, bracing, or medical treatment such as knee injections, depending on your condition.

Signs It’s Time to Have Your Knee Checked

  • Stairs or getting up from a chair have become difficult
  • Your knee feels stiff after sitting or resting
  • You’ve stopped walking or exercising as much as you’d like
  • Your knee catches, locks, or feels like it may give out
  • Pain or swelling keeps coming back

You don’t need to know which treatment you need before you call. Tell us what your knee is keeping you from doing, and we’ll help you take the next step.

FAQs About Knee Pain

HOW DO I KNOW IF MY KNEE PAIN IS SERIOUS?

If you cannot put weight on your knee, it looks misshapen, or you have significant swelling, redness, warmth, or fever, seek prompt medical care. If your knee pain keeps returning or is changing how you move, schedule an evaluation.

IF MY PAIN IS GONE, AM I DONE WITH CARE?

Pain is one way to measure progress, but it doesn’t tell us everything. We also want to know whether you can bend your knee, walk comfortably, use the stairs, and do the activities that matter to you. We’ll check your progress with you and explain our recommendations along the way.

HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE TO FEEL BETTER?

That depends on the cause of your knee pain and how you respond to care. After your evaluation, we’ll explain the recommended plan. During care, we’ll check both your symptoms and how your knee is functioning.

CAN YOU HELP WITH KNEE BURSITIS?

Bursitis can cause pain and swelling around the knee. Because other knee conditions can feel similar, we’ll evaluate your symptoms before recommending care.

WHAT DOES KNEE ARTHRITIS FEEL LIKE?

Knee arthritis may cause aching, swelling, or stiffness, especially after sitting or resting. It can also make walking, bending your knee, or using stairs more difficult. An evaluation can help us understand what’s contributing to your symptoms.

WHAT IF I THINK I TORE MY ACL?

An ACL injury may cause a popping sensation, swelling, pain, or a feeling that your knee will give out. If you think you’ve injured your ACL, seek medical attention so the injury can be evaluated.
